THE ROLE

As a DevOps Engineer, you will specialize in managing, automating, and optimizing our hybrid cloud infrastructure—spanning VMware, OpenStack, multi-cloud platforms, and enterprise Kubernetes. In this role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the high availability, scalability, and performance of critical services. Partnering closely with cross-functional teams, you will architect infrastructure automation solutions that streamline engineering operations, empower developers through self-service lifecycle management, and support business growth.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

- Architect & Scale Infrastructure: Design, deploy, and maintain scalable multi-cloud and on-premises environments across VMware, OpenStack, and bare-metal Kubernetes clusters to meet organization-wide standards.

- Automate CI/CD & Workload Lifecycles: Develop infrastructure-as-code and automated CI/CD pipelines to streamline day-to-day operations and enable self-service VM and container lifecycle management for engineering teams.

- Drive Observability & System Reliability: Establish enterprise observability standards—leveraging monitoring, logging, and metrics frameworks—to maintain high uptime and rapidly diagnose complex infrastructure issues.

- Collaborate & Modernize Operations: Partner with internal business units to translate technical requirements into robust architectures, share DevOps best practices, and continuously optimize platform efficiency.

- Ensure Operational Excellence: Provide ongoing infrastructure support across public clouds (AWS, Azure, GCP), contribute to technical documentation,

and participate in a "follow-the-sun" on-call rotation.

WHAT YOU BRING

Core Qualifications

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience).

- Systems & DevOps Expertise: 5 years of hands-on experience managing and automating large-scale VMware, OpenStack (Yoga or newer preferred), and enterprise Kubernetes environments on bare metal.

- Infrastructure Automation & Code: Proficiency in programming/scripting languages (Python, Go, or Java) alongside infrastructure automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, or Puppet.

- Observability & Networking: Solid foundation in core networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Open vSwitch) and experience implementing observability stacks using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic, Logstash, or Fluent-bit/Fluentd.

- Cloud & Virtualization: Practical experience managing virtualization technologies (KVM, VMware, KubeVirt) and providing automated infrastructure support across major public clouds (AWS, Azure, or GCP).

- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong attention to detail, and a cooperative mindset suited for cross-functional teamwork.

Preferred Qualifications

- Hands-on experience running virtualised or containerised infrastructure on Pure Storage products (FlashArray, FlashBlade, Portworx).

- Professional certifications such as CKA, CKAD, VCP, or COA.

- Direct experience running production workloads with KubeVirt.

- Familiarity working in Agile environments and using modern work-tracking tools.
