Head Medical Advisor / Medical Advisor

Location: Hyderabad

Reports To: Business Unit Head / Medical Director

Role Overview:

The Head Medical Advisor / Medical Advisor will be responsible for providing medical and scientific leadership across assigned therapy areas and brands. The incumbent will ensure evidence-based scientific communication, ethical medico-marketing practices, regulatory compliance, and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams. The role requires solid engagement with healthcare professionals (HCPs), Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), field teams, and internal stakeholders to drive strategic medical initiatives aligned with organisational goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Scientific Strategy & Brand Support

- Develop and execute scientific and medical strategies for assigned brands and therapy areas.
- Provide medical and clinical insights for product positioning, lifecycle management and implementation strategies.
- Partner with Business Unit and Divisional Heads to formulate therapy and product growth plans.
- Conduct scientific literature reviews and market assessments to identify emerging opportunities and unmet medical needs.
- Review promotional and non-promotional materials to ensure scientific accuracy and regulatory compliance.

2. Medico-Marketing & Scientific Content Development

- Drive medico-marketing initiatives aligned with business objectives and patient-centric outcomes.
- Develop evidence-based promotional and educational content including:

- Visual aids

- Brochures

- Monographs

- Product presentations

- Scientific articles





- Training materials
- Provide scientific support to marketing and sales functions.
- Ensure all communication materials comply with applicable regulatory and ethical guidelines.

4. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Capability Building

- Partner closely with Marketing, Sales, Clinical Research, Regulatory Affairs, and Training teams.
- Design and deliver medical training programmes for field personnel and internal stakeholders.
- Enhance organisational scientific capability through compliance-oriented and evidence-based learning initiatives.
- Support product launches and field force effectiveness through ongoing medical education.

5. Clinical Research & Regulatory Support

- Provide medical support in clinical research activities and site identification.
- Ensure scientific rigour and ethical conduct throughout clinical development processes.
- Support investigator-initiated studies and data generation programmes where applicable.
- Collaborate with Regulatory Affairs teams on scientific documentation and submissions.

Educational Qualification: MD Pharmacology / MD Medicine

Experience:

- 5-10 years of experience in Medical Affairs, Clinical Research, Pharmacovigilance, or related pharmaceutical functions.
