Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Mechanical Engineer to manage mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and project execution at our fertilizer and cattle feed manufacturing facility. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, improving operational efficiency, and maintaining safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of mechanical equipment and utilities.
- Troubleshoot and maintain conveyors, mixers, dryers, pellet machines, pumps, gearboxes, blowers, and compressors.
- Support the erection, installation, and commissioning of new mechanical equipment and production lines.
- Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for repairs, spare parts, fabrication, and equipment overhauling.
- Maintain maintenance logs, equipment history records, and spare parts consumption reports.
- Plan and execute shutdown maintenance activities while minimizing production downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and equipment isolation procedures.




- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
- Coordinate with the stores team to maintain adequate inventory of critical mechanical spares and tools.
- Ensure compliance with 5S, Good Engineering Practices (GEP), and plant safety standards.

Required Skills & Competencies

- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, rotating equipment, and industrial utility machinery.
- Hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, and equipment repair.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, P&IDs;, and equipment manuals.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD, CMMS software, and condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis and thermography.
- Strong problem-solving, planning, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and coordinate with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications & Experience

- B.E. / B.Tech / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance and project execution.
- Experience in fertilizer, cattle feed, chemical, or food processing plants will be preferred.
- Certifications in mechanical maintenance, condition monitoring, or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) will be an added advantage.
