: Manual Test Engineer – GI+ Payment & Accounting

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Manual Test Engineer with experience in general insurance applications, particularly payment processing and accounting modules. The candidate will be responsible for validating insurance business workflows, payment transactions, refunds, and financial accounting entries to ensure application quality, accuracy, and compliance with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Analyze business requirements, functional specifications, and user stories to prepare test scenarios and test cases.
- Perform manual testing, including functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and UAT testing.
- Test end-to-end insurance workflows, including policy issuance, renewals, endorsements, cancellations, and refunds.
- Validate payment transactions across multiple payment modes, including UPI, NEFT, IMPS, credit/debit cards, net banking, and cheque, as applicable.
- Test payment gateway integrations, transaction status updates, failed and pending transactions, duplicate payments, reversals, and refund processing.
- Validate accounting entries, premium collection, commission calculations, receivables, payables, reconciliation, and general ledger postings.
- Verify financial accuracy by checking debit/credit entries, transaction amounts, tax calculations, and settlement records.
- Perform API testing using Postman to validate payment and policy APIs, response codes, payloads, and error handling.
- Log, track,



and manage defects using Jira or similar defect management tools.
- Collaborate with developers, business analysts, finance teams, and business users to resolve defects and clarify requirements.
- Execute test cases across Dev, QA, UAT, pre-production, and production environments as required.
- Prepare test execution reports, defect summaries, and release readiness updates.

Required Skills

- 3–5 years of experience in manual software testing.
- Hands-on experience in payment processing and accounting module testing.
- Valuable understanding of general insurance business processes and policy lifecycle management.
- Experience testing payment gateways, refunds, transaction reconciliation, and financial accounting entries.
- Knowledge of functional, regression, integration, smoke, sanity, and UAT testing.
- Basic API testing experience using Postman or similar tools.
- Experience with Jira, Azure DevOps, TestRail, or similar testing tools.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving abilities.
- Good communication and stakeholder coordination skills.
- Preferred Skills
- Experience with general insurance platforms, policy administration systems, and claims management applications.
- Knowledge of premium accounting, commission accounting, financial reconciliation, and payment settlement processes.
- Exposure to UPI, NEFT, IMPS, RTGS, and payment gateway integrations.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and defect lifecycle management.
- Experience in insurance UAT and production validation.

Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
