Recommended Experience

8-12 years in transportation/logistics operations, with demonstrated ownership of First Mile, Middle Mile or Last Mile networks

Role Purpose

Own end-to-end transportation operations across First Mile, Middle Mile and Last Mile - ensuring vehicle availability, service performance, cost control and vendor governance with full network-level visibility.

Key Responsibilities

- Own end-to-end transportation and logistics operations across the network.
- Lead transporter/vendor onboarding, governance and performance management.
- Own vehicle planning, deployment, utilization and availability.
- Maintain network-level visibility of vehicle count, type, capacity, route, deployment and utilization.
- Manage work orders, rates/contracts, billing validation and reconciliation with Finance.
- Ensure vehicles report and depart on time and meet defined transit/delivery SLA.
- Monitor vehicle condition, compliance and documentation.
- Manage breakdowns and contingencies with minimum service disruption.
- Track First Mile, Middle Mile and Last Mile transportation performance.
- Develop transporter scorecards covering SLA, cost, utilization, damages,



cancellations and compliance.
- Drive logistics cost optimization through route, vehicle and capacity utilization.
- Partner with Tech/Product teams on vehicle tracking, GPS visibility, control-tower dashboards and exception alerts.
- Conduct RCA/CAPA for delays, breakdowns, capacity shortages and recurring issues.
- Support peak/festival capacity and contingency planning.

- On-time vehicle reporting and departure
- Transit/delivery SLA adherence by mile (First/Middle/Last)
- Vehicle utilization and capacity fill rate
- Freight cost per unit/km vs. budget
- Transporter scorecard compliance (SLA, cost, cancellations)
- Billing accuracy and reconciliation TAT
- Breakdown/contingency resolution TAT
- CAPA closure rate for recurring transportation issues

Qualification & Experience Graduate/Postgraduate in Supply Chain, Logistics or Operations. 8-12 years of progressive experience managing First/Middle/Last-mile transportation, transporter contracts and control-tower/TMS systems.

Preferred Industry Background

Retail, D2C, FMCG, e-commerce or 3PL with multi-modal transportation networks (FTL/PTL, last-mile fleets) and active vendor/transporter ecosystems.
