One of India's leading C&I; renewable energy platforms is hiring for Business Development Manager / Senior Manager roles across multiple locations in India. The organisation has a strong and growing presence across both rooftop solar and open access renewable energy solutions, serving large commercial and industrial customers. These are high-impact, front-end sales roles for BD professionals who can own the complete customer acquisition cycle and drive growth in their respective markets.
Key responsibilities
Business development & customer acquisition
- Drive business development and customer acquisition for C&I; renewable energy solutions across assigned geographies
- Identify and build relationships with large C&I; customers, industrial groups, and energy-intensive businesses
- Generate leads through market mapping, industry networks, channel partners, and direct outreach
Sales cycle management
- Lead the end-to-end sales cycle — from lead generation and qualification through negotiations, commercial closure, and contracting
- Understand customer power consumption,
tariff structures, and energy requirements to position suitable rooftop or open access solutions
- Prepare and present commercial proposals and business cases to customers and senior management
Market intelligence & regulatory tracking
- Track developments in open access regulations, state policies, DISCOM tariffs, and market dynamics in the assigned geography
- Conduct regular competitor analysis and market intelligence to identify new opportunities
- Maintain strong pipeline discipline through CRM, sales forecasting, and periodic reporting
Ideal candidate
- 3–8 years of experience in business development or sales within renewable energy, C&I; energy, open access, or power markets
- Strong understanding of open access business models and/or rooftop solar sales
- Existing network with C&I; or industrial customers in the target geography is a robust advantage
- Engineering or MBA background preferred
