Role Description The Lead Software Engineer will be responsible for driving the design, implementation, and optimization of core components of PLOMID’s AI-native database platform in a full-time remote capacity. This role involves architecting backend services, contributing to kernel and engine development, reviewing code, and ensuring high performance, scalability, and reliability across distributed systems.

The person in this role will collaborate closely with product, infrastructure, and data teams to translate requirements into robust technical solutions,



set engineering best practices, and mentor other engineers. Day-to-day work includes writing high-quality code, conducting technical reviews, improving developer tooling, participating in roadmap planning, and helping shape the technical vision of the platform.

Qualifications

- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including data structures, algorithms, concurrency, and distributed systems.
- Expertise in Software Development and Programming, with experience building production-grade systems and services.
- Proficiency in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, microservices, and performance optimization.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and patterns applied to complex architectures.
- Experience with database internals, storage engines, or high-performance data platforms is highly beneficial.
- Background in AI, data-intensive applications, or edge/embedded systems is a strong plus.
- Ability to lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate effectively in a remote, cross-functional setting.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
