About Secondz

Secondz is building software that automates complex business workflows using AI. Our product processes real-world RFQs, Excel files, PDFs, and business documents to deliver accurate and reliable results.

We are looking for a motivated Junior Backend Developer who wants to strengthen their backend engineering skills by working on real product features alongside our team.

Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain backend APIs using Python and FastAPI.
- Build and integrate REST APIs for frontend applications.
- Work with PostgreSQL to create queries and manage application data.
- Implement request validation, error handling, and business logic.
- Integrate third-party APIs and external services.
- Assist with file upload and document-processing workflows.
- Write basic unit tests and debug backend issues.
- Collaborate with frontend and AI teams to deliver features.
- Use Git and GitHub for version control and code reviews.
- Follow clean coding practices and maintain technical documentation.

Required Skills

- Basic to intermediate Python programming.
- Understanding of functions, classes, modules, and exception handling.
- Familiarity with FastAPI or Flask.
- Understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, status codes, and JSON.
- Basic SQL knowledge and familiarity with PostgreSQL or another relational database.
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub.
- Understanding of environment variables and API configuration.




- Willingness to learn debugging, testing, and backend development best practices.

Valuable to Have

- Basic knowledge of SQLAlchemy or an ORM.
- Familiarity with Pydantic and request validation.
- Understanding of authentication and API security fundamentals.
- Basic Docker knowledge.
- Experience working with file uploads or cloud storage.
- Personal backend projects or a GitHub portfolio.
