RSS Feed An ITI Fitter or specialized technician trained in fenestration handles the measurement, frame assembly, wall mounting, and hardware alignment for uPVC, aluminum, and wooden doors and windows.
Core Responsibilities in Installation
- Site Measurement & Blueprint Reading: Taking exact vertical, horizontal, and diagonal dimensions of wall openings to avoid gaps.
- Frame & Sub-Frame Fixing: Anchoring outer frames using anchor fasteners, shims, and spirit levels to ensure the structure is plumb and square.
- Material Handling: Installing uPVC heat-fused profiles, extruded aluminum sections,
or traditional wooden assemblies.
- Glazing: Fitting single, double, or triple-glazed glass panels using rubber gaskets, silicone sealants, and glazing beads.
- Hardware & Accessories: Mounting handles, locking cylinders, friction hinges, rollers, weather stripping, and door/window stoppers.
