Role Summary

We are hiring an experienced MQ Administrator to own our enterprise messaging and middleware infrastructure in a 24x7 operational setting. You will handle installation, configuration, monitoring, security, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of IBM MQ and related middleware, working closely with application, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operations teams.

Key Responsibilities

MQ & Middleware Administration

- Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain IBM MQ across development, test, staging, and production environments.
- Set up and manage queue managers, queues, channels, listeners, clusters, topics, and security settings.
- Support distributed MQ deployments on Linux, Windows, and cloud platforms.
- Implement and maintain clustering, multi-instance queue managers, failover, and high-availability designs.
- Run regular health checks and preventive maintenance.
- Track queue depth, channel status, message flow, and overall middleware performance.
- Diagnose messaging failures, connectivity problems, latency, and integration incidents.
- Manage SSL/TLS configuration and certificates to keep messaging secure.
- Put backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures in place.
- Maintain middleware standards, naming conventions, and operating procedures.

Integration Support

- Work with application teams, system integrators, OEM vendors,



and infrastructure teams during deployments and integrations.
- Support integrations between mission-critical airport operational systems.
- Help troubleshoot interfaces across enterprise systems, operational databases, APIs, and third-party applications.
- Review message flow logs and transaction traces to resolve issues.
- Support SIT, UAT, production rollouts, and cutovers.

Monitoring & Incident Management

- Provide L2/L3 support for production middleware incidents.
- Take part in 24x7 support and on-call rotations as needed.
- Conduct root cause analysis and drive corrective and preventive actions.
- Meet SLA, availability, and operational KPI targets.
- Keep incident records, operational logs, and technical documentation up to date.

Security & Compliance

- Align middleware infrastructure with organizational cybersecurity policies.
- Apply authentication, authorization, encryption, and audit logging controls.
- Support vulnerability remediation, security audits, and compliance work.
- Partner with cybersecurity teams on hardening and risk reduction.

Automation & Improvement

- Build and maintain scripts for monitoring, deployment, backup, and maintenance.
- Identify opportunities for performance tuning and process improvement.
- Contribute to infrastructure modernization and cloud migration initiatives where relevant.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering, or a related field.
- 5 years of hands-on IBM MQ administration experience.
- Proven experience administering enterprise middleware in production.
- Working knowledge of Linux and Windows server environments.




- Solid understanding of TCP/IP, networking, firewalls, and secure communication protocols.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Experience with high-availability and disaster recovery setups.
- Shell or other automation scripting skills.
- Familiarity with ITIL incident and change management.

Preferred Skills
- Background in aviation, airport systems, transportation, or other mission-critical domains.
- Exposure to IBM ACE/IIB, Kafka, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, or similar platforms.
- Experience with containerized or cloud-based middleware.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, AppDynamics, or Splunk.
- Understanding of REST/SOAP APIs and enterprise integration patterns.
- Experience on large-scale system integration projects.
- Exposure to DevOps and CI/CD practices.
