The Hatchery In-Charge is responsible for the overall daily operations, biosecurity, production efficiency, and staff management of the hatchery facility to ensure maximum hatchability rates and healthy chick production.

Key Responsibilities:

- Production &
- Incubation Management:

- Oversee the entire incubation cycle from egg reception, grading, and fumigation to setting, candling, transfer, and hatching.

- Monitor and control environmental parameters (temperature, humidity, and ventilation) in setter and hatcher rooms.

- Maintain optimal hatchability percentages and high-quality chick grading standards.

- Biosecurity &

- Hygiene Control:

- Enforce strict biosecurity protocols across the hatchery to prevent disease outbreaks (vaccination, sanitation, disinfection of equipment, vehicles, and egg storage areas).

- Manage waste disposal and monitor pest control measures regularly.

- Flock &

- Egg Quality Control:

- Inspect incoming hatching eggs from breeder farms for quality, cleanliness, cracks, and proper weight.

- Keep accurate records of egg inventory, setter/hatcher outputs, and cull rates.

- Staff Leadership &

- Administration:

- Supervise hatchery technicians, operators, and cleaning crews; assign daily shifts and tasks.

- Conduct routine training on safety, handling procedures, and biosecurity protocols.

- Manage inventory of consumables (disinfectants, packing materials, vaccines, and maintenance spare parts).

- Reporting:

- Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production metrics, mortality, energy consumption, and dispatch numbers to upper management.

Part 2: Hatchery Supervisor The Hatchery Supervisor works on the ground level to ensure that all daily operational processes, machinery functions,



and labor activities are executed smoothly and according to company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

- Floor Operations &
- Monitoring:

- Supervise hands-on activities including egg loading, candling, chick pulling, sorting, counting, sexing (if applicable), and vaccination.

- Continuously monitor machine gauges, alarms, and indicators for any irregularities in temperature or humidity.

- Equipment Maintenance &

- Troubleshooting:

- Perform routine checks on incubators, hatchers, backup generators, and HVAC systems.

- Immediately report mechanical or electrical faults to the maintenance team and assist with minor troubleshooting.

- Quality &

- Safety Compliance:

- Ensure workers strictly adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) and sanitization protocols before entering production zones.

- Check that hatched chicks are active, healthy, and properly packed in ventilated chick boxes for transport.

- Labor &

- Record Keeping:

- Maintain physical logs and digital entries for egg counts, setting dates, hatch yields, and labor attendance.

- Guide and assist floor workers to maintain high productivity and ensure tasks are completed on schedule.

Core Requirements (For Both Roles)

- Education:

- In-Charge: Degree or Diploma in Agriculture, Animal Husbandry, Veterinary Science, Poultry Production, or related fields.

- Supervisor: High School Diploma with specialized certification or hands-on experience in hatchery operations.

- Experience:

- Proven experience in poultry hatchery management, incubation techniques, and biosecurity practices.

- Skills:

- Strong technical understanding of incubation machinery (Jamesway, Petersime, or similar modern incubators).

- Good problem-solving abilities and leadership skills.

- Ability to work in a climate-controlled, high-humidity, and quick-paced environment.

Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
