About us

Karur Gold Finance is a gold loan company with branches across Karur, Namakkal, Erode, Salem, Tiruppur and Dindigul. Thogai Murugan Real Estates develops and sells plots, villas and apartments across Karur, Namakkal, Dindigul and Trichy. Both companies have their head office in Karur. We are growing, and we need a hands-on HR leader to build strong, fair and compliant people practices across both companies.

Role summary The Group HR Manager owns HR for both companies, covering hiring, onboarding, payroll inputs, statutory compliance, employee relations and HR policy. You will lead and guide our existing HR Manager, set HR priorities with management, and visit branches and sites regularly to stay close to our teams.

Key responsibilities

Recruitment and onboarding

- Plan and run hiring for both companies: branch staff (gold appraisers, cashiers, customer service and recovery staff, branch managers) at KGF, and sales, telecalling, CRM, site and admin staff at TMR.
- Manage job postings on Naukri, LinkedIn, Indeed and other channels, plus referrals and campus or job-fair hiring, within approved budgets.
- Screen candidates, coordinate interviews with hiring managers, and manage offers, background and reference checks, appointment letters and onboarding.

HR operations and payroll
- Maintain employee records, attendance and leave, and prepare monthly payroll inputs for both companies.
- Handle confirmations, transfers, promotions, exits and full-and-final settlements.

- Maintain HR MIS and reports in Excel or an HRMS: headcount, attrition, hiring status and cost.

Statutory compliance (both companies)
- Ensure compliance with PF, ESI, gratuity, bonus, maternity benefit, Professional Tax, Labour Welfare Fund and Tamil Nadu Shops & Establishments requirements, with separate records for each company and establishment.
- Keep up with the new Labour Codes (for example, appointment letters for all employees) and coordinate with our labour-law consultant and auditors.
- Set up and support the Internal Committee under the POSH Act, and run awareness sessions.

Policies, performance and employee relations
- Draft and update HR policies and SOPs: leave, attendance, code of conduct, travel, and cash- and gold-handling discipline.
- Run the performance management cycle (KRAs/KPIs, appraisals, improvement plans) and provide HR inputs for sales incentives.
- Handle grievances, disciplinary matters and domestic inquiries fairly, and document them properly.
- Support employee engagement, training and retention across branches and sites.

Team leadership
- Lead, mentor and assign work to the existing HR Manager. Agree on transparent responsibilities between both HR roles.
- Work closely with management, branch managers and project heads.

Must-have requirements
- 3–6 years of hands-on, generalist HR experience: recruitment, onboarding, attendance and payroll inputs, exits and full-and-final settlements.
- Experience in high-volume, multi-location hiring of frontline staff (branches, sales, field or site teams).

- Practical working knowledge of PF, ESI, POSH and other statutory compliance, and of keeping registers and returns.
- Experience drafting HR policies and running performance appraisals.
- Good Excel skills (pivots, lookups, MIS reports); comfortable with an HRMS or payroll software.
- Fluent spoken and written Tamil, and good English.
- Ability to lead and guide another HR professional.
- Willingness to travel regularly to branches and sites across Karur, Namakkal, Erode, Salem, Tiruppur, Dindigul and Trichy.
- Graduate in any discipline.

Nice to have
- HR experience in an NBFC, gold loan, bank or microfinance company.
- HR experience in real estate or construction, including incentive-based sales teams.
- MBA / PGDM / MSW in HR.
- Experience setting up a POSH Internal Committee.
- Experience with background verification for cash- or custody-handling roles.
- Links with colleges and placement cells in Karur, Trichy, Salem or Erode.
- Familiarity with the transition to the current Labour Codes.

What we offer
- Salary of ₹28,000 – ₹35,000 per month, plus statutory benefits as applicable.
- A visible, group-level role covering two growing businesses, working directly with management.
- The chance to build HR systems and policies from the ground up.
