Job Title: Motherboard Repair Engineer

Position Overview The Motherboard Repair Engineer is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing laptop, desktop, and server motherboards at the component level. The role requires expertise in fault diagnosis, BGA rework, SMD soldering, testing, and quality validation to ensure repaired motherboards meet Geonix quality standards and defined turnaround time (TAT).

Key Responsibilities

- - Diagnose and repair faulty laptop, desktop, and server motherboards at the component level.
- Troubleshoot CPU sockets, RAM slots, VRM circuits, chipsets, BIOS ICs, power circuits, and other motherboard components.
- Perform component replacement using SMD soldering, reballing, and BGA rework techniques.
- Repair power failures, boot issues, display issues, charging faults, and other motherboard-related problems.
- Update or flash BIOS firmware whenever required.
- Test repaired motherboards using test benches and diagnostic tools to verify complete functionality.
- Perform final quality inspection before product dispatch.
- Maintain repair records, testing reports, and service documentation.
- Analyze recurring hardware failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Follow ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety standards and company repair SOPs.
- Coordinate with the Service Coordinator and Team Leader to achieve daily repair targets and TAT commitments.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe repair workstation.




- Continuously upgrade technical knowledge of emerging motherboard technologies and repair methodologies.

- - Timely completion of assigned motherboard repairs within defined TAT.
- High first-time repair success rate.
- Accurate diagnosis and reliable component-level repairs.
- Zero quality defects during final testing and dispatch.
- Proper maintenance of repair documentation and service records.
- Compliance with Geonix quality standards and ESD procedures.
- Reduction in repeat repairs and customer complaints.

Educational Qualification

- - ITI or Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, or a related technical discipline.
- Relevant certifications in motherboard or electronics repair will be an added advantage.

Experience

- - 2–4 years of hands-on experience in laptop, desktop, or server motherboard repair.
- Experience in component-level troubleshooting and repair of electronic hardware.

Technical Skills

- - Component-level motherboard troubleshooting.
- SMD soldering and component replacement.
- BGA rework and reballing.
- BIOS flashing and firmware troubleshooting.
- Circuit analysis and schematic reading.
- Diagnosis of power, display, charging, and boot-related faults.
- Understanding of motherboard architecture and electronic components.
