Experience

Relevant experience in a stitching / garments / upholstery section is preferred. Experience in sofa cover stitching and upholstered furniture manufacturing will be an added advantage.

Job Summary

Responsible for supervising and monitoring the stitching and garments section involved in sofa manufacturing. The role includes managing tailoring activities, monitoring tailors' productivity, ensuring stitching quality, inspecting fabric covers, and coordinating with production teams to achieve daily production targets while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

1. Stitching & Garments Section Supervision

· Supervise and monitor day-to-day activities in the stitching and garments section.

· Oversee sofa fabric cutting, stitching, sewing, and cover preparation activities.

· Ensure smooth workflow and timely completion of production schedules.

· Monitor the proper utilization of fabric, accessories, and other materials.

2. Tailor & Workforce Management

· Allocate daily stitching jobs to tailors based on production requirements.

· Monitor tailors' attendance, productivity, efficiency, and work progress.

· Guide tailors on stitching methods, work procedures, and quality requirements.

· Ensure proper coordination and discipline within the stitching team.

3. Quality Inspection & Control

· Inspect stitched sofa covers for measurements, stitching accuracy, seam strength, finishing, and overall appearance.

· Identify and rectify stitching defects,



loose threads, uneven seams, and measurement deviations.

· Ensure sofa covers meet approved designs, patterns, specifications, and quality standards.

· Minimize rejection, rework, fabric wastage, and customer complaints.

· Approve finished covers before transferring them to the next stage of sofa production.

4. Production Planning & Monitoring

· Monitor daily production targets and ensure timely completion of assigned jobs.

· Track stitching output and report production status to the Production Manager.

· Identify bottlenecks in stitching operations and take corrective action.

· Coordinate with fabric cutting, upholstery, production, and quality teams to ensure uninterrupted workflow.

5. Process Improvement & Reporting

· Maintain daily production and quality inspection records.

· Ensure proper handling and storage of fabrics, stitched covers, and accessories.

· Maintain cleanliness, workplace safety, and 5S standards in the department.

· Recommend improvements in stitching quality, productivity, and operational efficiency.

Education and Experience Requirements:

- Degree / Diploma / 12th / 10th(Any)
- 2+ years Minimum experience.

Language:

- English – Above average
- Tamil - Good

Age:

- Above 22 & Below 34

Job Types: Full time, Permanent Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
