Job summary The Electrician / Maintenance Technician is responsible for installing, inspecting, maintaining, and repairing electrical wiring, lighting, appliances, and facility equipment. The role includes troubleshooting and servicing air conditioners, refrigerators, coolers, HVAC systems, and other electrical equipment to help ensure safe, reliable operation.

Key responsibilities

- Install, inspect, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, switches, sockets, circuit breakers, distribution boards, and other electrical components.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults using appropriate tools and testing equipment.
- Maintain and repair lighting systems, including indoor and outdoor lights, fixtures, and emergency lighting.
- Inspect, service, and troubleshoot air conditioners, refrigerators, water coolers, and related equipment.
- Assist with the maintenance and repair of HVAC systems, including basic checks of electrical controls, motors, fans, and connections.
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
- Respond to breakdowns and carry out repairs in a timely manner.
- Identify unsafe or damaged wiring and equipment, report hazards, and take appropriate steps to prevent accidents.
- Replace faulty components and support equipment installation or relocation when required.
- Keep tools and work areas clean, organized, and in valuable condition.




- Maintain records of inspections, maintenance work, repairs, and materials used.
- Follow safety procedures and use appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Coordinate with the maintenance team and other departments to minimize disruption to operations.
- Carry out other electrical maintenance duties as assigned.

Education and qualifications

- ITI certificate in Electrician trade qualification.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring, basic electrical circuits, and safe maintenance practices.
- Familiarity with electrical tools and testing equipment, such as multimeters and voltage testers.
- Basic knowledge of AC, refrigerator, cooler, and HVAC maintenance is preferred.
- Ability to read basic wiring diagrams is an advantage.

Work conditions
- Work may be carried out across different areas of the facility.
- The role may involve working with electrical equipment, ladders, tools, and machinery.
- Occasional support outside regular working hours may be required for urgent breakdowns.
