Role & responsibilities
- Electrical design: Prepare load lists, maximum-demand and cable sizing calculations, single-line diagrams, panel GA / schematics (PCC, MCC, APFC, DB, VFD panels), lighting and earthing / lightning-protection layouts.
- Power distribution: Select and specify transformers, DG sets, UPS, switchgear, busducts, cables and protection devices; carry out voltage-drop, short-circuit and protection-coordination checks.
- Instrumentation: Prepare P&IDs; (control portion), instrument index, I/O lists, datasheets, hook-up and loop drawings; select field instruments - temperature, RH, pressure / DP, flow, level, airflow and particle sensors, control valves and actuators.
- Automation & controls: Define control philosophy and develop PLC / DDC logic, SCADA / HMI screens and BMS / EMS architecture for AHUs, chillers, cleanroom pressure cascades, utilities and process equipment.
- Pharma compliance: Support GMP-compliant automation - 21 CFR Part 11 audit trails, alarm management, data integrity and GAMP 5 validation documents (URS, FDS, IQ / OQ).
- Specifications & BOQ: Prepare technical specifications, BOQs, cost estimates and tender documents; evaluate vendor offers and prepare technical comparisons.
- Vendor & drawing review: Review and approve vendor drawings, panel schematics and PLC / SCADA configurations; conduct FAT at vendor works.
- Site execution: Supervise installation, cable routing, termination and instrument calibration; lead pre-commissioning, loop checks, SAT and commissioning.
- Coordination: Coordinate with HVAC, mechanical,
civil and process disciplines and integrate electrical / control requirements into the overall 3D and 2D layouts.
- Documentation: Maintain as-built drawings, O&M; manuals, test reports and handover documentation.
Preferred candidate profile
- Sound knowledge of LT power distribution, motor control, VFDs, protection and earthing; working knowledge of HT systems up to 11 / 33 kV.
- Familiarity with IS / IEC standards, the National Electrical Code (NEC 2023), CEA regulations and IS 732 / IS 3043.
- Hands-on experience with PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley / Rockwell, Schneider, Mitsubishi or Delta) and SCADA / HMI (WinCC, FactoryTalk, iFIX, Ignition or similar).
- Experience with BMS / DDC controllers (Honeywell, Siemens Desigo, Johnson Controls, Schneider EcoStruxure or equivalent) for HVAC applications.
- Knowledge of industrial communication protocols - Modbus RTU / TCP, Profibus / Profinet, BACnet, Ethernet/IP, OPC UA.
- Instrument selection, calibration and loop checking; understanding of PID control and control-loop tuning.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical / AutoCAD; exposure to ETAP, DIALux, EPLAN or Revit MEP is an advantage.
- Good MS Excel skills for calculations, I/O lists and BOQs.
- Perks and advantages
- Diverse projects for reputed pharmaceutical, automotive and industrial clients.
- Opportunity to help build and grow the EI&A; function within a multi-disciplinary engineering team.
- End-to-end exposure - from concept design through commissioning and handover.
- Competitive compensation and performance-linked growth.
- Supportive team, mentoring and opportunities to grow into a lead role.
