Job Summary

We are looking for a qualified and experienced Electrical Engineer holding a valid C Licence to manage, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the electrical systems of a hospital. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted power supply, electrical safety, preventive maintenance, regulatory compliance, and reliable operation of critical hospital infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

- Operate and maintain electrical systems, including HT/LT panels, transformers, electrical distribution boards, and switchgear, as applicable.
- Monitor and maintain DG sets, AMF panels, UPS systems, battery banks, and emergency power supply systems.
- Ensure uninterrupted electrical power to critical hospital areas such as ICUs, operation theatres, emergency departments, laboratories, and medical equipment rooms.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical installations, lighting systems, wiring, earthing, and power distribution networks.
- Supervise electrical technicians, electricians, and external contractors.
- Ensure compliance with applicable electrical safety rules, statutory requirements, and local electrical inspectorate regulations.
- Maintain electrical maintenance records, equipment logs, breakdown reports, checklists,



and energy consumption records.
- Coordinate with biomedical engineering, HVAC, plumbing, fire and safety, and other hospital departments.
- Attend electrical breakdowns and emergencies promptly to minimize disruption to hospital operations.
- Conduct routine inspections of electrical panels, cables, earthing systems, and safety devices.
- Ensure proper implementation of lockout/tagout (LOTO), permit-to-work procedures, and electrical safety practices.
- Coordinate with authorized agencies for statutory inspections, testing, and licence-related compliance.
- Monitor energy consumption and recommend energy-saving initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with hospital safety policies, infection control requirements, and operational protocols while carrying out maintenance activities.

Educational Qualifications

- Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Valid Electrical C License / applicable electrical supervisor or contractor licence, as required by the relevant state authority.
- Knowledge of electrical safety regulations and hospital electrical infrastructure is essential.

Required Skills and Experience

- 1015 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in a hospital, healthcare facility, or large commercial building.
- Positive knowledge of HT/LT electrical systems, transformers, DG sets, UPS, and emergency power systems.
- Understanding of electrical load management, earthing, protection systems, and preventive maintenance.
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical faults
