1. Role Overview The Education Counsellor converts suitable student and parent enquiries into course enrolments through needs-based counselling, clear course explanations, structured follow-up, and ethical communication. The role requires practical experience with an EdTech product or service and a target-oriented approach.
2. Eligibility & Employment Details
· Relevant experience: 2–3 years. Direct EdTech industry experience is mandatory; candidates with experience only in non-EdTech industries will not qualify.
· Age criterion: below 30 years.
· Compensation: Up to ₹45,000 per month, depending on relevant experience, skills, and interview assessment.
· Joining: Immediate joiners preferred; confirm actual notice period and earliest joining date.
· Work style: Student/customer-facing role with regular follow-ups, accurate CRM updates, and performance targets.
3. Key Responsibilities
· Contact prospective students/parents from assigned leads and understand their learning goals, eligibility, budget, timeline, and concerns.
· Explain relevant courses, delivery format, curriculum, duration, fees, admission/enrolment process, and outcomes accurately; never promise unsupported results.
· Assess lead fit and recommend appropriate next steps rather than pushing an unsuitable course.
· Handle objections around fees, time commitment, course relevance, trust, and decision-making using explicit, respectful explanations.
· Follow up through calls/messages at agreed intervals and maintain a clear next action for each active lead.
· Guide interested prospects through counselling, application, payment, documentation, and enrolment hand-offs as applicable.
· Update CRM records promptly with lead source, need, conversation summary, objections, status, next follow-up date, and outcome.
· Work toward agreed counselling, follow-up, conversion, and enrolment targets; review the funnel and improve weak stages.
· Coordinate with telecalling, marketing, academic, admissions, and operations teams to resolve queries and provide a smooth student experience.
· Protect student data and follow company processes, communication standards, and applicable privacy requirements.
4. Mandatory Qualifications & Skills
· 2–3 years of direct EdTech experience, ideally in education counselling, admissions, course sales, student enrolment, or a closely related student-facing role.
· Ability to explain the previous EdTech company, product/course range, target audience, lead sources, sales/counselling process, and personal contribution.
· Strong spoken communication in the languages required for the target market; active listening and clear explanation skills.
· Demonstrated follow-up discipline, objection handling, relationship building, and conversion-focused counselling.
· Comfort using CRM systems, spreadsheets, call logs, and basic reporting tools.
· Ability to explain measurable past performance honestly, such as monthly leads handled, counselling sessions, conversions, or target achievement.
5. Performance Measures (KPIs)
· Quality and completeness of counselling conversations.
· Follow-up completion and CRM data accuracy.
· Lead-to-counselling and counselling-to-enrolment conversion, measured against company targets.
· Achievement of agreed enrolment/revenue targets without misleading claims.
· Student/parent feedback, professionalism, and smooth coordination with internal teams.
