Role Description The Director role at Samsung R&D; Institute India – Bangalore is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The Director will lead multiple R&D; teams, define strategic technology roadmaps, and drive end-to-end delivery of complex, high-impact projects in areas such as AI, intelligent platforms, system software, and connected devices. This role involves setting technical direction, establishing best engineering practices, and collaborating closely with global Samsung stakeholders to align local initiatives with overall business and product goals.

The Director will mentor senior leaders and managers, develop talent pipelines, and promote a culture of innovation, inclusion,



and measurable execution excellence. Day-to-day responsibilities include reviewing project progress, making data-driven decisions, managing budgets and resources, mitigating risks, and representing the organization in internal and external technology forums.

Qualifications

- Proven leadership experience in large-scale R&D; or technology organizations, with the ability to set vision, build high-performing teams, and deliver complex products or platforms.
- Strong technical background in one or more relevant domains such as AI/ML (including Spatial AI or Quantum-Inspired approaches), system software, communication technologies, intelligent platforms, or consumer device ecosystems.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, portfolio management, and driving innovation pipelines from concept to deployment.
- Experience in collaborating across global, cross-functional teams, including product management, design, engineering, and business stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and decision-making skills, with the ability to influence at executive levels.
- Track record of fostering inclusive, people-centric cultures that support diversity, learning, and skilled growth.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with comfort using metrics and data to guide priorities and performance.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field is preferred; substantial equivalent experience will be considered.
