Job Purpose

Provide end-to-end architectural leadership and governance for the database application - owning solution design, implementations, migrations and production support, and driving the innovation roadmap through in-house capability that reduces partner dependency and cost.

Duties and Responsibilities

- Lead platform strategy, architecture, and governance across database and digital transformation initiatives.

- Drive end-to-end deliveries, including conversions, migrations, implementations, upgrades, and post-go-live stabilisation.

- Own application delivery and production support, ensuring service excellence, SLA adherence, and timely financial close processes.

- Provide technical leadership for solution architecture, design reviews, complex issue resolution, and cross-functional integration.

- Manage portfolio roadmap, implementation partners, budgets, vendor governance, and project delivery outcomes.

- Build and develop high-performing teams through capability building, resource planning, succession management, and performance development.

- Ensure compliance with regulatory, audit, information security, and financial control requirements while driving stakeholder engagement at leadership and Steering Committee levels.

Key Decisions / Dimensions

- Final architectural sign-off on solution design, cross-module integration and clean-core deviations.

- Delivery model (in-house vs partner-led) and validation of partner scope and effort on fixed-cost engagements.

- Fast decision making on production fixes.

- Allocation of team and partner resources across support and project workstreams.





- Approval of partner effort, timesheets and invoices within delegated financial authority.

Major Challenges

- Maintain clean core and architectural consistency as agentic AI capabilities are added.

- Reduce partner dependency and cost through in-house delivery without compromising quality or timelines.

- Meet statutory, audit and regulatory timelines.

Required Qualifications and Experiencea) Qualifications

- Post Graduate or Graduate in Engineering with 16 years of experience

b) Work Experience

- 16 years of experience, including leadership of end-to-end implementations.

- Deep expertise in PostgreSQL/Oracle/MS-SQL.

- Proven experience managing implementation partners on fixed-cost engagements and building in-house delivery teams.

- Proven people-management experience leading on-roll, off-roll and partner teams - hiring, performance management, mentoring and succession planning.

- Prior & relevant experience in the Financial Services Industry would be an added advantage.
