About the Project
Sol's ARC is a disability inclusion organisation with over 23 years of experience enabling Persons with Disabilities to access education, livelihoods and employment.
Our Inclusive
Education programme works directly with state governments and education departments — building the capacity of teachers, resource persons and government officials to make schools and learning systems genuinely inclusive for children with special needs.
The curriculum team is at the heart of this work — designing the content that goes into government teacher training, developing materials for resource persons in the field and ensuring that what is taught is evidence-based, contextually appropriate and practically usable.
About the Role The Curriculum Lead is a senior content and training leadership role — not a subject matter specialist but a curriculum systems thinker. The person in this role must be able to take any content area subject adaptation, inclusive education, teacher training, disability identification etc.) and design a well-structured module, create effective training materials and deliver training on it. The curriculum Lead makes the content rigorous, the training practical and the team capable.
This is a people management role as much as it is a content role. You will Manage a team of 3–5 curriculum developers and trainers, guide their work quality, build their capacity and be the quality benchmark for everything the team produces and also manage govt stakeholders during trainings and workshops
Experience with government systems — particularly at the state level with education departments and the school education ecosystem — is strongly preferred. Someone who understands how state government training systems work, how content gets adopted in government programmes and how to work with teachers and resource persons in government-run settings will thrive in this role.
What Will You Typically Do?
1.
Curriculum
Design and Content Development
- Manage the end-to-end design of training modules and curriculum content for Sol's ARC's inclusive education programmes — from needs assessment to module structure, session plans, session objectives and learning outcomes.
- Design content that is contextually appropriate for the school education system — teacher training materials, resource person guides, facilitator handbooks and participant workbooks.
- Ensure all content is evidence-based, pedagogically sound, aligned with state and national curriculum frameworks and disability-inclusive by design.
- Review and quality-check all content produced by the curriculum team — maintain the standard and provide structured feedback.
- Adapt and contextualise content for different state education contexts, languages and learner profiles as the programme expands.
2.
Training
Design and Delivery
- Design training programmes for teachers,Special educators, government officials and education department functionaries — including session plans, facilitation guides, assessments and follow-up tools.
- Deliver high-quality training sessions directly when required — particularly for state-level training of trainers and key government stakeholder engagements.
- Build a consistent, replicable training delivery model that the team can use across geographies.
- Monitor training quality across the team — observe sessions, provide feedback and ensure delivery standards are maintained.
- Maintain a repository of resources validated by authorized professional bodies or subject matter experts of national/international credibility, that can serve as source material for designing content such as WHO, NCERT, UNESCO, UNICEF
3. Team Management and Capacity Building
- Manage and guide a team of 3–5 curriculum developers and trainers — set explicit work plans, review outputs and provide regular coaching and feedback.
- Build the team's capability in instructional design, module development and training facilitation — through hands-on mentoring and structured learning.
- Review team members' work for quality, accuracy and alignment with Sol's ARC's content standards.
- Ensure the team works cohesively, meets deadlines and produces materials that are ready for deployment without requiring major revision.
4.
Government System
Engagement
- Work with state education department officials, SCERTs, DIETs and Block Education Officers to understand the training context and align Sol's ARC's content to government frameworks.
- Support the programme team in understanding what content will work within the government school system — and what will not.
- Build relationships with state-level government training bodies to ensure Sol's ARC's curriculum is embedded in government systems, not parallel to them.
