Conduct comprehensive eye examinations, visual assessments and diagnostic investigations for cataract and related eye conditions.
Responsibilities
- Plan individualised surgical treatment, including IOL selection and management of co-existing eye conditions.
- Perform cataract surgery, including phacoemulsification and IOL implantation, under approved anaesthesia protocols.
- Provide pre-operative counselling, informed consent, surgical-risk explanation and post-operative instructions.
- Manage post-operative follow-up, complications, medications and referrals where required.
- Maintain accurate, timely and confidential clinical records.
- Work with optometrists, nurses,
anaesthesia and operation-theatre teams to ensure patient safety and continuity of care.
- Participate in clinical audit, quality improvement, infection-control compliance and surgical-outcome monitoring.
- Evaluate patients with cataract and other anterior-segment disorders, perform protected cataract surgery, and provide complete pre-operative and post-operative care to restore and protect vision.
