Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Galaxy Planning Specialist with knowledge of lab-grown diamond manufacturing to perform rough diamond scanning, planning, and optimization using Galaxy planning software. The candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate diamond cutting plans to maximize polished diamond yield, improve production efficiency, minimize weight loss, and achieve the desired polished diamond size, shape, and quality.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform rough diamond planning using Galaxy planning software.
- Analyze rough lab-grown diamonds and prepare optimized cutting plans.
- Review rough diamond scans, dimensions, inclusions, growth lines, and other relevant characteristics.
- Plan diamonds according to required polished specifications, including carat weight, shape, dimensions, and quality.
- Optimize rough-to-polished yield while maintaining the required quality standards.
- Prepare planning reports and communicate cutting instructions to laser, sawing, bruting, and polishing teams, as applicable.
- Coordinate with production, scanning, laser planning, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth workflow.
- Identify opportunities to improve yield, reduce diamond weight loss, and minimize production errors.
- Verify planning accuracy and resolve planning-related issues in coordination with the production team.
- Maintain records of rough weight, planned polished weight, expected yield, and actual production results.
- Ensure that planning decisions meet company quality standards and production targets.
- Stay updated on planning techniques, software features,



and lab-grown diamond manufacturing processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications
- Practical experience with Galaxy diamond planning software.
- Knowledge of lab-grown diamond manufacturing processes, including CVD and HPHT rough diamonds.
- Understanding of rough diamond shapes, dimensions, inclusions, and growth characteristics.
- Knowledge of diamond cutting, laser sawing, bruting, and polishing processes.
- Ability to optimize rough-to-polished yield without compromising the required quality.
- Good analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to coordinate with production and technical teams.
- Attention to detail and the ability to meet production deadlines.

Experience Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of relevant diamond planning experience preferred.
- Experience in lab-grown diamond manufacturing will be an advantage.
- Candidates with practical Galaxy software experience and a proven planning track record will be preferred.

- Rough-to-polished yield percentage.
- Accuracy of planned versus actual polished weight.
- Planning productivity and turnaround time.
- Reduction in avoidable weight loss.
- Compliance with required polished specifications.
- Planning accuracy and reduction in production rework.

Preferred Candidate Profile The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in Galaxy planning software, a strong understanding of lab-grown diamond rough characteristics, and the ability to develop practical, production-ready cutting plans that balance polished yield, quality, and commercial value. Salary: As per experience and technical expertise.
