Job Role: Biomedical Engineer

Experience: 2 to 5 Years

Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering

Key Responsibilities / Job Role

- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of biomedical and medical equipment.
- Ensure proper functioning, safety, and availability of medical equipment throughout the hospital.
- Handle installation, inspection, testing, calibration, and troubleshooting of medical devices.
- Maintain equipment inventory, asset registers, service records, breakdown reports, and maintenance logs.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors and authorized service providers for repairs, servicing, and annual maintenance contracts (AMCs).
- Attend equipment breakdown complaints and ensure timely resolution to minimize downtime.
- Monitor the performance and operational readiness of equipment in the ICU, NICU, PICU, emergency department, operation theatre, wards, and other clinical areas.
- Coordinate with nursing staff, doctors, and other hospital departments regarding equipment-related issues.
- Ensure biomedical equipment is maintained in accordance with manufacturer recommendations and applicable safety requirements.
- Maintain records of equipment warranties,



service contracts, calibration, and preventive maintenance schedules.
- Assist in the procurement, installation, inspection, and commissioning of new medical equipment.
- Conduct basic user training for hospital staff on the safe operation and handling of medical equipment.
- Support hospital quality assurance, audits, and applicable NABH documentation related to biomedical equipment management.

Requirements Education: Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Biomedical Engineering

- Strong troubleshooting and technical problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to respond promptly to equipment breakdowns.
- Valuable coordination with clinical, nursing, engineering, and vendor teams.
- Ability to maintain accurate equipment records and maintenance documentation.
- Commitment to patient safety, equipment reliability, and hospital service standards.
- Willingness to work in a hospital environment and attend urgent equipment complaints as required.
