Backend Engineer – AI/LLM Applications (AWS)

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced Backend Engineer to build and maintain backend services for our healthcare AI platform. You’ll develop APIs, integrate AI models, and deploy reliable applications on AWS.

Key Responsibilities

- Build and maintain backend services and REST APIs using Python or Node.js.
- Integrate LLMs through Amazon Bedrock and other model APIs.
- Develop workflows for document processing, data extraction, and automation.
- Deploy and manage applications using AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS, SQS, and CloudWatch.
- Design database schemas, optimize SQL queries, and build data pipelines.
- Implement authentication, access controls, and secure handling of sensitive data.
- Build background jobs with retries, error handling, and monitoring.
- Write automated tests, troubleshoot production issues, and improve performance.




- Collaborate with AI and frontend teams to deliver features through production.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 3 years of professional backend development experience.
- Solid proficiency in Python or Node.js.
- Hands-on experience deploying and maintaining production applications on AWS.
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, PostgreSQL or other relational databases, and asynchronous processing.
- Experience with Git, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Understanding of application security, logging, monitoring, and debugging.
- Ability to independently own backend features from design through deployment.

Good to Have

- Experience with Amazon Bedrock, LLM integrations, or RAG applications.
- Familiarity with vector databases and infrastructure as code.
- Experience with healthcare applications or sensitive-data workflows.
