About the Role

AWS Geek is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Back-End Developer Intern to join our development team. The candidate will assist in building, maintaining, and optimizing the server-side components of websites, web applications, and mobile applications.

The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of backend programming, databases, APIs, and server-side development, along with a willingness to learn and work on real-world projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Assist in developing and maintaining server-side application logic.
- Build and maintain RESTful APIs for web and mobile applications.
- Work with databases to store, retrieve, update, and manage application data.
- Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate APIs with user interfaces.
- Write clean, readable, reusable, and maintainable code.
- Assist in implementing authentication and authorization functionality.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve backend bugs and errors.
- Test APIs and verify that endpoints work as expected.
- Work with databases and optimize basic queries when required.
- Assist in integrating third-party services and APIs.
- Use Git and GitHub for version control and team collaboration.
- Follow coding standards, documentation practices, and secure development principles.
- Learn and implement backend development best practices under the guidance of senior developers.

Required Skills
- Basic knowledge of at least one backend programming language, such as Python, JavaScript, Java, or PHP.
- Understanding of server-side programming fundamentals.
- Basic knowledge of REST APIs and HTTP methods.
- Familiarity with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
- Understanding of JSON and API request/response structures.




- Basic knowledge of Git and GitHub.
- Understanding of authentication, data validation, and error handling.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Willingness to learn current technologies and collaborate with a development team.

Preferred Qualifications
- Candidates pursuing or having completed a degree or diploma in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Academic projects, personal projects, or previous internship experience in backend development.
- Familiarity with frameworks such as Node.js with Express.js, Django, FastAPI, Flask, or similar technologies.
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms, deployment, and server management.
- Familiarity with API testing tools such as Postman.
- Understanding of basic data structures and algorithms.
