About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Atlassian Cloud Platform Engineer to manage, optimize, and modernize enterprise collaboration and service management platforms. This role focuses on administering Atlassian Cloud products, leading cloud migration initiatives, improving platform governance, and enabling teams to work more effectively through well-designed tooling and automation.

The successful candidate will partner with engineering, infrastructure, security, IT service management, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions across the Atlassian ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

Atlassian Cloud Platform Administration

- Manage and continuously improve Jira Cloud, Confluence Cloud, and Jira Service Management Cloud.
- Configure and maintain workflows, permission models, projects, spaces, issue types, schemes, dashboards, automations, and integrations.
- Convert business requirements into scalable and supportable platform solutions.
- Ensure platform usability, reliability, and long-term maintainability.

Cloud Migration & Modernization
- Plan and execute migrations from self-hosted Atlassian environments to Atlassian Cloud.
- Prepare migration strategies, data validation plans, backup procedures, and testing activities.
- Support test migrations, identify and resolve migration issues, and validate production cutovers.
- Maintain detailed migration documentation, including risks, dependencies, decisions, and outcomes.
- Minimize user impact while ensuring successful migration execution.

Application & Integration Management
- Evaluate Marketplace applications and determine suitable cloud migration approaches.
- Work with software vendors and internal stakeholders to verify solution compatibility and business requirements.
- Manage integrations with identity platforms, development tools, collaboration services, and IT service management systems.
- Ensure integrations meet operational, security, and compliance requirements.





Operational Support
- Investigate and resolve platform incidents, configuration issues, access requests, and migration-related defects.
- Participate in production deployment and migration activities when required.
- Maintain documentation, monitoring processes, escalation procedures, and audit controls.
- Ensure platform stability, availability, and operational excellence.

Security, Compliance & Governance
- Implement least-privilege access principles and effective permission management.
- Maintain accountability for projects, spaces, applications, integrations, and platform ownership.
- Review significant platform changes and safeguard sensitive information.
- Support audit requirements, governance initiatives, and security best practices.
- Ensure alignment with enterprise security and compliance standards.

User Adoption & Change Management
- Work with business stakeholders and service owners to support adoption initiatives.
- Create documentation, knowledge articles, FAQs, training materials, and user guidance.
- Promote effective use of cloud capabilities and platform best practices.
- Help teams achieve measurable productivity improvements through platform enhancements.

Additional Responsibilities
- Own daily administration and engineering activities across the Atlassian Cloud ecosystem.
- Lead or support migration projects, testing activities, user acceptance testing (UAT), and production validation efforts.
- Collaborate with Atlassian support teams, migration specialists, implementation partners, software vendors, and internal stakeholders.




- Maintain architecture documentation, operational procedures, configuration standards, and platform knowledge.
- Identify opportunities for automation, workflow simplification, improved governance, and better data quality.
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.

- Infrastructure, identity, security, engineering, and service management teams.
- Project teams, business stakeholders, and end users.
- Atlassian migration specialists, implementation partners, and Marketplace vendors.

Required Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience administering or engineering Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, or similar enterprise collaboration platforms.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Atlassian Cloud administration, including:
- Configuration management
- Access control and permissions
- Workflow design
- Automation
- Platform integrations
- Experience supporting or leading:
- Data migrations
- Application migrations
- Testing and validation activities
- Production cutovers
- Solid troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent documentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Understanding of:
- Cloud security principles
- Least-privilege access models
- Data protection practices
- Change management and operational controls
- Ability to work independently while coordinating with distributed teams, vendors, and external partners.
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills.
