Assistant Procurement Manager A mid-sized distributor of industrial supplies, serving customers across three states, building out its purchasing desk

Where the purchasing desk stands today The company stocks thousands of fasteners, bearings, safety items and electricals, and buys from a few hundred suppliers. Most buying still runs on phone calls, spreadsheets and the memory of two senior buyers. The new assistant manager will help turn that into a desk that can be handed over, audited and grown. What you would handle

- Raise purchase orders against sales demand and stock levels, and chase confirmations and delivery dates
- Collect quotes from at least three suppliers for repeat items and prepare a simple comparison for the purchasing head
- Keep the supplier master, rate lists and lead-time sheet accurate and up to date
- Reconcile goods receipts with invoices and settle short-supply or damaged-goods queries with suppliers
- Flag slow-moving stock and reorder-level problems to the warehouse team early





Who you would work beside You report to the purchasing head and sit close to the warehouse leads and the accounts payable team. Sales coordinators will often come to you for delivery commitments, so you will need to be straightforward about what a supplier can and cannot do.

What we would like to see

- 1 to 3 years in purchasing, procurement or a supply-chain role, ideally with traded goods
- Valuable Excel skills, including lookups and pivot tables; any ERP or Tally exposure is a plus
- Comfortable negotiating politely but firmly in Hindi and English
- Careful with numbers, and someone who writes down what was agreed
- A degree in commerce, engineering or business
