Role & responsibilities

- Analyze and resolve application issues at the database and application level.

- Develop, debug, and tune SQL queries, stored procedures, and jobs in Microsoft SQL Server.

- Monitor and maintain scheduled database jobs, troubleshoot failures, and ensure database health.

- Understand and support Java-based applications; ability to analyze logs and application behavior.

- Deploy and manage applications hosted on web servers like Apache Tomcat.

- Basic support and troubleshooting for server and network-related dependencies.

- Liaise with development, QA, and infrastructure teams for escalated issues.

- Document standard procedures, workflows, and known issues/resolutions.

- Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents.

Preferred candidate profile

- Database Expertise: Strong knowledge of MSSQL procedures, views, functions, triggers, jobs, and query optimization.





- Java Knowledge: Understanding of Java application structure, logs, and JVM-related behaviors.

- Application Hosting: Hands-on experience with Tomcat or similar Java-based web servers.

- Basic understanding of Windows/Linux servers, firewall basics, and networking concepts (IP, DNS, ports).

- Experience in monitoring tools and basic log analysis (via console, log files, or ELK/Splunk, if used).

- Positive communication and documentation skills.

- Ability to work in shifts or on-call (if required).

- Bachelors degree in computer science / information technology / engineering or related field.

- Relevant certifications in SQL Server / Java / ITIL are an added advantage.
