Position: Ambulance Driver

Job Summary The Ambulance Driver is responsible for operating hospital emergency vehicles safely and efficiently to transport critical oncology patients, medical staff, and emergency supplies. This role requires driving expertise, patient care sensitivity, strict adherence to traffic and safety rules, and rapid response capability during life-threatening medical situations.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Secure Patient Transport: Safely operate Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances for non-emergency transfers, home care visits, critical transfers, and emergency patient admissions.
- Emergency Response Readiness: Maintain 24/7 readiness for rapid dispatch, adhering to emergency response protocols and selecting optimal routes to minimize transit time.
- Vehicle Inspection & Maintenance: Perform daily pre-shift inspections, including fuel levels, tire pressure, brakes, sirens, lights, and oxygen cylinder levels. Report any mechanical issues immediately to transport/facility management.
- Patient Assistance: Assist nursing and paramedic staff with loading, unloading, and transferring bedridden or critically ill cancer patients using stretchers, wheelchairs,



and stair chairs.
- Emergency Equipment Familiarity: Basic understanding of onboard emergency equipment (oxygen supply lines, stretcher locking mechanisms, suction apparatus) to assist the clinical team during transit.
- Cleanliness & Infection Control: Ensure regular washing, interior cleaning, and sanitization/disinfection of the ambulance cabin after every patient transport in accordance with hospital hygiene standards.
- Logbook & Documentation: Accurately log trip details, kilometers driven, fuel consumption, time of dispatch/arrival, and patient transfer records in hospital logbooks.

Preferred Candidate Profile

- Education: Minimum Class 10th Pass (Matriculation) or Class 12th Pass.
- Driving License: Valid Commercial Transport Driving License (LMV-Transport) mandatory.
- Experience: 3 to 5 years of driving experience, with at least 2+ years as an Ambulance Driver in a hospital, emergency service provider, or healthcare facility.
- Certifications: First Aid certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) driving orientation (preferred).
