Flight booking staff (often called ticketing executives or travel consultants ) handle airline reservations for both domestic and international travel.
Key Responsibilities
- Booking air tickets using Global Distribution Systems like Amadeus GDS, Sabre GDS, or Galileo GDS
- Providing fare options, travel itineraries, and best routes
- Handling reissues, cancellations, and refunds
- Managing international travel requirements (visa info, baggage rules, transit rules)
- Coordinating with airlines and customers for schedule changes
- Maintaining customer records and booking details
Skills Required
- Knowledge of airline ticketing and fare rules
- Familiarity with GDS systems (Amadeus, Sabre, Galileo)
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Attention to detail (important for names, dates, passport info)
