- Pre-Surgical Preparation:
- Clean, disinfect, and sterilize surgical instruments, tables, and the overall room setting.
- Set up and calibrate specialized medical equipment like lights, monitors, and anesthesia machines.
- Transport patients to the OT, position them safely on the operating table, and prep incision sites.
- Intra-Operative (During Surgery) Assistance:
- Hand sterile instruments, supplies, and sutures directly to surgeons and scrub nurses.
- Operate and monitor medical devices, suction machines, and vital sign trackers.
- Maintain the sterile field and perform instrument and sponge counts to ensure nothing is left inside the patient.
