Job Description: Social Media Head – Bangla Digital

Location: Kolkata, West Bengal
Experience: Minimum 5 years
Reporting To: Bangla Head - Editorial (Digital)

Role Overview

Lead social media strategy, audience growth, content distribution, and monetisation for the leading print media house across West Bengal and Kolkata, building a strong, commercially sustainable digital presence.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and grow the brand across YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, X, and other relevant social media platforms.
- Develop platform-specific strategies to increase reach, followers, engagement, video views, and audience retention.
- Plan and execute social-first content, including reels, shorts, news videos, interviews, live programmes, and podcasts.
- Develop monetisable video and podcast formats and drive revenue through platform monetisation, sponsorships, and branded content.
- Analyse platform performance, track KPIs, benchmark competitors, and implement data-driven growth strategies.
- Coordinate with editorial, video, ground reporting,



and business teams for timely content delivery and integrated campaigns.
- Stay updated on social media trends, algorithms, and emerging content formats.

Candidate Profile

- Graduate/postgraduate in Journalism, Mass Communication, Digital Marketing, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in digital news media.
- Proven track record in growing social media channels and generating video views and monetisation revenue.
- Strong understanding of digital media business, video production, podcast development, and audience analytics.
- Familiarity with Bengali news, West Bengal's audience preferences, and regional trends.
- Creative, analytical, and result-oriented, with solid coordination and leadership skills.

Key Performance Indicators

Social media audience growth, reach and engagement, YouTube views and watch time, successful video/podcast development, and achievement of agreed monetisation and revenue targets.
