Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced 1040 Manager to join our agile tax team. The 1040 Manager will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and review of complex individual income tax returns (Form 1040), ensuring accuracy, compliance with tax laws, and timely filing. This role involves managing a team of tax preparers and staff, providing technical guidance, fostering client relationships, and contributing to tax planning strategies. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical tax knowledge, exceptional leadership abilities, and a commitment to delivering high-quality client service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and oversee the preparation and review of complex individual income tax returns (Form 1040), including multi-state returns, high-net-worth individuals, and those with intricate investment portfolios.
- Provide technical tax expertise and guidance to staff, resolving complex tax issues and ensuring adherence to current tax laws and regulations.
- Review tax returns prepared by staff for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws.
- Supervise,



train, and mentor junior tax professionals, providing constructive feedback and fostering their professional development.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing tax planning advice, and building strong, lasting relationships.
- Conduct thorough tax research using various tax software and databases to support tax positions and advise clients on tax implications.
- Identify and implement tax planning opportunities for clients to minimize tax liabilities and achieve financial goals.
- Ensure all tax deadlines are met efficiently and accurately, managing workflow and priorities during peak tax seasons.
- Assist in the development and implementation of firm-wide tax policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and compliance.
- Collaborate with other departments and partners on integrated client service offerings.
- Stay current with changes in tax law and regulations through continuous professional education.
