Role summary
Owns the content engine behind organic search across every property — the brief-to-publish pipeline, quality bar and production throughput. Sits between SEO strategy and editorial execution.
Key responsibilities
• Own the SEO content calendar across Ethos, Lifestyle, Second Movement and Hour Studio.
• Turn keyword and gap analysis into briefs writers can execute against — intent, structure, entity coverage, internal links and commercial angle.
• Manage a mixed pool of in-house, freelance and agency writers to a monthly publishing target without letting quality slip.
• Own on-page optimisation of new and existing pages: titles, metas, headings, schema and internal linking.
• Run the content refresh programme — identify decaying pages and rebuild them before traffic is lost.
• Build content that AI answer engines can cite: clear structure, defensible facts, genuine expertise signals and correct entity markup.
• Uphold E-E-A-T on a category where product knowledge is scrutinised — horological accuracy matters, and errors are noticed.
• Report monthly on publishing throughput,
time-to-rank and content-attributed traffic and revenue.
Success measures
• Pages published against monthly target, by property
• Content-attributed organic sessions and revenue
• Average time-to-rank for new pages
• Refresh programme: pages reworked and traffic recovered
