Chandigarh University is seeking an experienced and dynamic professional for the position of Assistant Director – Sports to lead sports planning, student participation, competitive team development, coaching, and sports event management. The ideal candidate should have substantial experience in university-level sports, institutional sports administration, or competitive sports, with a robust focus on athletic performance, student engagement, and sports excellence.
Key Responsibilities1. Sports Strategy & Calendar Formation
• Develop and implement the annual sports strategy, activities, and event calendar.
• Plan inter-university, intra-university, inter-college, and competitive sporting activities.
• Align sports initiatives with institutional objectives and student development goals.

2. Mass Participation in Sports
• Promote student participation in recreational, fitness, and competitive sports.
• Organize intramural competitions, fitness initiatives,



and campus-wide sports activities.
• Encourage inclusivity and participation across different student groups.

3. Competitive Teams & Performance Management
• Develop and manage university sports teams for inter-university, state, national, and international competitions.
• Identify talented athletes and oversee team selection, training schedules, and performance tracking.
• Coordinate participation in tournaments and ensure teams are adequately prepared.

4. Coaching & Talent Development
• Coordinate coaching programs, training camps, and athlete development initiatives.
• Identify sporting talent and create structured pathways for skill development and competitive excellence.
• Supervise coaches and assess training effectiveness and athlete progress.

5. Sports Event Management
• Plan and execute sports tournaments, championships, sports meets, and institutional events.
• Manage event logistics
