Salesforce Administrator:

Position Summary

We are hiring a Salesforce Administrator with development depth to own the day-to-day health of our Salesforce environment and to build the automation, integrations, and custom functionality the business runs on. Salesforce is the enterprise CRM system of record and sits alongside Salesforce CPQ, Certinia (PSA, SCM, OIM), and NetSuite as part of MGT's consolidated stack.

This role sits on the Platforms Enterprise Applications team, which holds central governance over Salesforce across all MGT business units. Configuration changes, enhancements, bug fixes, and development work move through this team under a common SDLC and a single release process. Business units request and prioritize; this team designs, builds, and deploys.

The work is hands-on and split roughly 60/40 between configuration, release management, and platform governance on one side, and Apex, Lightning Web Components, and integration work on the other. You will support multiple business units as their processes converge onto a single org, so comfort with competing requirements and legacy workflows is essential.

Key Responsibilities

Platform Administration and Governance

- Own user lifecycle, profiles, permission sets, permission set groups, role hierarchy, sharing rules, and field-level security; move the org toward a permission-set-driven model.
- Act as a gatekeeper for org changes: no direct production configuration, no unmanaged side deployments, no business-unit-local automation outside the governed pipeline.
- Administer license allocation across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, CPQ, and Certinia, and report on utilization against contracted entitlements.
- Maintain org health: technical debt reduction, deactivation of unused fields and automations, retirement of Workflow Rules and Process Builder in favor of Flow.
- Enforce naming conventions, documentation standards, and metadata hygiene mechanically where possible validation rules, required approvals, and automated checks rather than process reminders.
- Manage sandbox strategy, refresh cadence, and data seeding.
- Vet AppExchange packages for security review status, license model,

and integration impact before installation.

Development

- Build and maintain Apex triggers using a single-trigger-per-object handler pattern, along with batch, queueable, and scheduled Apex.
- Develop Lightning Web Components and Screen Flows for user-facing functionality; extend standard objects before introducing custom ones.
- Write and maintain unit tests with meaningful assertions, not coverage padding; hold the org above the deployment threshold with a target of 90%+ on new code.
- Write efficient SOQL and design for governor limits and large data volumes, including indexing and selective query patterns.
- Build inbound and outbound integrations using REST/SOAP callouts, Platform Events, Named Credentials, and External Services.
- Participate in code review and follow a source-driven SDLC: Git-based version control, feature branching, SFDX, and automated deployment pipelines. Change-set-only deployment is not acceptable practice here.

Integration and Consolidation

- Support the ongoing consolidation of acquired-entity CRM and quoting processes onto the enterprise Salesforce org, including data mapping, deduplication, and cutover support.
- Maintain integrations between Salesforce, NetSuite, Certinia, and the enterprise integration layer (MuleSoft Anypoint Platform); work with the integration team on error handling, retry logic, and reconciliation.
- Support Salesforce CPQ configuration product and price rules, bundles, quote templates, approval processes and the handoff from closed-won to project delivery and billing.
- Contribute to data quality controls: duplicate rules, matching rules, required-field enforcement, and periodic audits.

Support and Enablement

- Serve as tier-2/3 escalation for Salesforce issues; triage, root-cause,

and resolve within agreed service levels.
- Intake, size, and prioritize enhancement requests through a single backlog rather than ad hoc side channels.
- Build and maintain reports, dashboards, and report types for sales, delivery, and finance leadership.
- Produce release notes and deliver enablement to end users and business-unit admins after each release.
- Manage the three annual Salesforce releases: evaluate impact in preview sandboxes, test critical paths, and communicate changes.

Required Qualifications

- 4+ years of Salesforce administration experience in a production environment with 200+ users.
- 2+ years writing production Apex, including triggers, asynchronous processing, and test classes.
- Demonstrated experience with Lightning Web Components and the Lightning App Builder.
- Strong Flow skills, including subflows, error handling, and Flow-to-Apex handoffs.
- Working knowledge of the Salesforce security and sharing model, including OWD, sharing rules, and manual and Apex sharing.
- Experience with Git-based version control and a modern deployment toolchain (SFDX, Gearset, Copado, Flosum, or equivalent).
- Experience integrating Salesforce with at least one ERP, finance, or PSA system.
- Salesforce Administrator certification.
- Skilled written and spoken English, and the ability to explain technical constraints to non-technical stakeholders.
- Reliable home office setup and the ability to work the required overlap hours.

Preferred Qualifications

- Salesforce Platform Developer I; Advanced Administrator or Platform Developer II a plus.
- Salesforce CPQ experience, including the CPQ data model and package behavior.
- Certinia (formerly FinancialForce) PSA, SCM, or OIM experience.
- NetSuite integration experience.
- MuleSoft Anypoint Platform exposure.
- Experience supporting a multi-entity organization or a post-acquisition system consolidation.
- Familiarity with SSO/SCIM provisioning through Microsoft Entra ID.
- Public sector, education, or government contracting background.
- Experience with Salesforce Shield, Event Monitoring, or field audit trail.
