Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Team Lead – US Payroll to manage end-to-end US payroll operations, ensure payroll accuracy and regulatory compliance, and lead a payroll processing team. The ideal candidate must have strong knowledge of US payroll processing, US Federal and State tax regulations, payroll compliance, and payroll management systems, along with proven team leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end US payroll processing, including salary calculations, tax withholdings, benefits, deductions, and payroll adjustments.
- Ensure compliance with US Federal and State payroll tax regulations and applicable statutory requirements.
- Handle payroll tax documentation and forms, including W-2, W-4, and 1099.
- Lead, mentor, and manage the payroll team to ensure accurate and timely payroll delivery.
- Work with payroll systems such as ADP, Workday, Ceridian, or SAP.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, calculation errors, and employee payroll queries.
- Maintain payroll records and ensure confidentiality and security of employee payroll data.
- Coordinate with US clients, vendors, and internal stakeholders to resolve payroll-related issues.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, workflow optimization, and payroll automation.
- Manage multiple payroll cycles while ensuring accuracy and adherence to strict deadlines.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

- Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in payroll operations, with strong exposure to US Payroll.
- US Payroll Processing:



Hands-on experience in end-to-end payroll processing, including salary calculations, deductions, benefits, and tax withholdings.
- US Taxation & Compliance: Strong knowledge of US Federal and State tax regulations, payroll taxes, W-2, W-4, and 1099 forms.
- Payroll Software: Practical experience with at least one payroll platform, such as ADP, Workday, Ceridian, or SAP.
- Team Leadership: Proven ability to lead, manage, and mentor a payroll team.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to investigate payroll errors, analyze discrepancies, and implement effective resolutions.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with US clients and internal stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Strong focus on payroll accuracy, documentation, and compliance.
- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple payroll cycles and meet strict processing deadlines.
- Data Security: Understanding of payroll confidentiality and employee data protection requirements.

Good to Have

- Knowledge of Indian payroll processes and employment laws.
- Experience in payroll automation, process improvement, and operational efficiency initiatives.
- Relevant certifications such as CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) or other payroll/HR certifications.
