Job Purpose/ Summary To manage and execute shift-wise operations of the Pipe Bending Plant, ensuring safe, efficient and consistent production of induction-bent pipes as per approved production plans, bending procedures, customer specifications and quality requirements. The role is responsible for controlling critical induction heating, bending and cooling parameters, achieving production and productivity targets, minimizing rejection/rework, ensuring equipment and manpower utilization, and coordinating with Quality, Maintenance, Technical Services and other support functions for smooth shift operations.

Execute shift-wise production activities for induction pipe bending as per approved production plan, bending schedule and applicable procedures.

Ensure correct identification and verification of incoming pipes with respect to OD, wall thickness, grade, heat number, pipe number and project requirements before bending. Operate and monitor the complete bending process, including induction heating, bending, controlled cooling and handling. Monitor and control critical process parameters such as heating temperature, heating rate, bending speed, bending force, bend radius, bend angle and cooling parameters as per approved process requirements.

Ensure proper machine setup, tooling/fixture selection and readiness before commencement of production. Monitor pipe condition during bending and immediately identify abnormalities such as cracks, wrinkles, buckling, excessive deformation, surface damage or dimensional deviation.



Ensure proper handling and movement of pipes to prevent damage during loading, bending, unloading and subsequent operations.

Coordinate with Quality/NDT for in-process and post-bending inspection and disposition of non-conforming pipes. Coordinate with Maintenance for breakdowns, equipment abnormalities and preventive maintenance requirements affecting shift production. Ensure effective utilization of manpower, machines, consumables and energy during the shift.

Maintain shift-wise production records, process parameters, rejection/rework data, downtime and other operational records. Ensure compliance with approved SOPs, Work Instructions, ITPs, safety procedures and customer/project-specific requirements. Support trials, new product introduction, process parameter optimization and productivity improvement initiatives.

Ensure proper shift handover with complete information on production status, equipment condition, quality issues, pending activities and abnormalities.

Achieve shift production targets in terms of quantity productivity and delivery requirementsbrEnsure stable and controlled induction heating and pipe bending operations maintaining required bend angle bend radius and dimensional accuracybrControl and minimize rejection rework scrap process losses and pipe damage ensuring compliance with specified heating bending and cooling parametersbrEnsure proper pipe traceability throughout the bending process and monitor improvements in OEE machine utilization cycle time and process productivitybrEnsure firsttimeright production and effective control of process deviations coordinating with Quality for dimensional inspection NDT hardnessmechanical property checks and other applicable postbending inspectionsbrCoordinate with Maintenance to minimize breakdowns and restore equipment availability within the shift ensuring adherence to EHS requirements PPE safe operating practices 5S and housekeepingbrIdentify operational problems and conductparticipate in RCA and CAPA for recurring production issues supporting Kaizen TPM Lean Manufacturing and productivity improvement initiativesbrEnsure accurate documentation of production process parameters downtime rejection rework and shift performance training and guiding operators on process parameters SOPs protected operating practices and quality requirementsbrEnsure effective communication and coordination between Production Quality Maintenance Technical Services Planning and Dispatch ensuring proper shift handover and escalation of critical operational quality or safety issuesbrEnsure compliance with applicable customer specifications approved procedures and plant quality management systems
