Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Solar Design Engineer (Electrical – 4 Year) role based in Ahmedabad.

The Solar Design

Engineer will be responsible for designing rooftop and ground-mounted solar PV systems, preparing detailed electrical layouts, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and protection schemes in line with applicable standards and regulations. The role includes performing site assessments, load analysis, and system sizing, as well as optimizing designs for performance, safety, and cost-effectiveness.



The engineer will coordinate with project, EPC, and installation teams to ensure accurate design implementation, provide technical support during procurement and construction, and assist in documentation for approvals, permits, and client submissions.

Daily tasks also involve using design and simulation software, maintaining design records, and contributing to continuous improvement of design processes and digital platforms.

Qualifications

- Solid foundation in the solar industry and solar power, with the ability to apply current standards and best practices.
- Hands-on experience with solar systems and PV design, including rooftop and utility-scale configurations.
- Proficiency in electrical design for solar projects, including layouts, SLDs, cable sizing, earthing, and protection coordination.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (4-year program) or equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Familiarity with solar design and simulation tools (e.g., PVsyst, AutoCAD, Helioscope, or similar) and MS Office.
- Knowledge of relevant Indian and international electrical codes, grid-interconnection standards, and safety regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in technical documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with project, EPC, and field teams.
