About the Role

We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Senior Software Engineer – Java Backend & Microservices to join our engineering team at SBS.

In this role, you will design, develop, and deliver scalable, high-performance software solutions using Java, Spring Boot, and up-to-date microservices architecture. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, contribute to solution design and architectural decisions, and help build enterprise-grade products for the banking and financial services industry.

We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on coding, takes ownership of technical solutions, and contributes to continuous improvement in engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, develop, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance applications using Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices.
- Contribute to solution architecture, High-Level Design (HLD), Low-Level Design (LLD), and technical decision-making.
- Build and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services for enterprise-grade applications.
- Work with relational and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, and caching technologies like Redis.
- Collaborate with product owners, architects, QA, and engineering teams throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, sprint planning, technical discussions, and code reviews.
- Contribute to product architecture improvements, technical scalability, and application performance optimization.
- Support CI/CD processes, automated deployments, and engineering best practices.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues,



optimize system performance, and support production releases.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote clean coding, maintainability, and continuous improvement.

Required Skills & Experience
- At least 6–8 years of software development experience with strong hands-on expertise in Java 8 or above.
- Strong experience with Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Microservices, and RESTful APIs.
- Good understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, design patterns, and SOLID principles.
- Experience with solution design, distributed systems, and scalable application architecture.
- Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
- Understanding of caching mechanisms such as Redis.
- Experience with Hibernate/JPA and modern backend development practices.
- Familiarity with Git, Jenkins, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Good understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
- Strong analytical, debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

Good to Have

- Experience with AWS cloud services and cloud-native application development.
- Exposure to Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, or Ansible.
- Experience with Spring Batch, reactive programming, or event-driven architectures.
- Working knowledge of Angular or other frontend technologies.
- Familiarity with Python scripting and development automation.
- Experience building enterprise-grade software products.
- Exposure to Banking, Financial Services, Fintech, or Payments domains.
- Knowledge of low-code/no-code platforms.
