Role Description This full-time remote role for a Junior Developer –

- Frontend &
- REST API involves building and maintaining user-facing features for the Hire-a-Friend web application. The developer will implement responsive interfaces, integrate REST APIs, and collaborate with senior engineers to ensure smooth communication between frontend components and backend services. Day-to-day tasks include writing clean, maintainable code, participating in code reviews, troubleshooting bugs, and contributing to small feature enhancements and UI improvements. The role also involves working closely with product and design teams to translate requirements into functional, user-friendly web experiences.

We are looking for a motivated Junior Developer with at least 2 years of experience in web application development. The candidate should have a strong understanding of Frontend Development and REST API integration.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing responsive user interfaces, integrating APIs, debugging issues, and working closely with the backend and development team. Knowledge of Laravel/PHP will be considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop and maintain responsive and user-friendly web applications.




- Build reusable and maintainable frontend components.
- Integrate REST APIs with frontend applications.
- Work with JSON data and handle API requests/responses.
- Implement authentication and authorization flows on the frontend.
- Handle API errors, loading states, validation, and user feedback.
- Collaborate with backend developers to understand API requirements.
- Debug and resolve frontend and API integration issues.
- Write clean, readable, and maintainable code.
- Participate in code reviews and follow development best practices.
- Test applications across different browsers and screen sizes.
- Understand existing codebases and contribute to new features and improvements.

Required Technical Skills

Frontend –
- Mandatory
- Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Experience with React.js or similar modern frontend framework.
- Understanding of responsive web design.
- Knowledge of component-based development.
- Understanding of JavaScript ES6+ concepts.
- Basic knowledge of state management.
- Familiarity with Git and GitHub/GitLab.

REST API –
- Mandatory
- Good understanding of REST APIs.
- Experience integrating REST APIs with frontend applications.
- Understanding of:
- GET, POST, PUT/PATCH, DELETE
- HTTP status codes
- Request headers
- Query parameters
- Request/response payloads
- JSON
- Authentication tokens
- Experience using tools such as Postman for API testing.




- Ability to troubleshoot API integration issues.

Backend –
- Added Advantage

Knowledge of Laravel/PHP will be an advantage.

Candidates with knowledge of the following will be preferred:

- Laravel basics
- MVC architecture
- Laravel Controllers, Models and Routes
- Laravel REST API development
- Laravel Sanctum/API authentication
- Eloquent ORM
- Database fundamentals
- MySQL/PostgreSQL

Qualification

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, MCA, or a related field.
- 2+ year of relevant software development experience.
- Candidates with strong practical/project experience may also be considered.
