About RiNVENT
RiNVENT Industries Pvt. Ltd., founded in 2015, is an Indian OEM building smart-grid automation products for power distribution utilities. We supply and commission SCADA/LDMS systems, RTUs, FRTUs, data concentrator units, fault passage indicators and transformer monitoring units for state DISCOMs. These systems communicate over IEC 60870-5-104, IEC 61850 and Modbus, across MPLS-VPN and 4G networks.
The Role
You’ll join our Substation Automation team as a trainee and learn hands-on how 33/11 kV substations are automated. The work covers wiring and testing field equipment, checking signals with the control centre, and supporting commissioning at live substations, all alongside experienced engineers.
What You’ll Do
- Assist in installing, wiring and commissioning RTUs, FRTUs, DCUs, transducers, multifunction meters and communication equipment in substations
- Check panel wiring, ferruling and terminations; test digital inputs, digital outputs and analog inputs, including breaker status, trip/close commands and CT/PT secondaries
- Carry out point-to-point checks between the field and the control centre, and record the results in point lists
- Install and configure 4G routers, modems, Ethernet switches and RS-232/RS-485 serial links
- Help test IEC 60870-5-104 and Modbus communication using laptop tools and simulators
- Support factory acceptance tests (FAT), site acceptance tests (SAT) and utility inspections
- Maintain daily site reports,
test sheets, material records and commissioning checklists
- Travel to substations and utility offices across Telangana and Andhra Pradesh
Who Should Apply
- Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering (EEE) or Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE)
- Sound basics of electrical and electronic circuits, measurements, wiring and the use of a multimeter and clamp meter
- Basic computer skills: MS Excel, email, and simple IP address settings on a laptop
- Willingness to do hands-on field work in substations and to travel regularly
- Two-wheeler with a valid driving licence preferred
- Transparent communication in Telugu; basic English
Good to Have
- Diploma project or industrial training in substations, PLC/SCADA, panel wiring, IoT or networking
- Familiarity with protection relays, energy meters, RTUs or circuit breakers
- Basic knowledge of electrical safety practices and permit-to-work in substations
