About UsIAiR – Institute of Artificial Intelligence and Research is developing a series of Artificial Intelligence textbooks aligned with the CBSE curriculum and the AI Foundation Course for Grades VI to XII. The content for the series has been developed, and we are now looking for creative designers to bring these books to life through engaging layouts and visuals suited to young learners.

Role OverviewWe are looking for a creative, detail-oriented Book Designer with proven experience in designing books, only educational textbooks. The designer will be responsible for page layout and design, and for generating images that match the content. All images must be designed according to the design prompts or image prompts provided by our content team for each chapter.

Key Responsibilities

- Design complete book layouts for Grades VI–XII, including covers, index, chapter openers, text pages, activity boxes, tables, infographics and end-of-chapter sections.
- Create and generate images, illustrations, diagrams, tables and infographics strictly based on the design prompts / image prompts provided with the content.
- Ensure visuals are accurate, age-appropriate and consistent with the concepts being taught at each grade level.
- Maintain a consistent visual style, colour palette, typography and iconography across the entire series.
- Use appropriate AI image generation tools along with conventional design software to produce high-quality, original visuals.




- Refine and edit generated images so they are clean, accurate and print-ready.
- Coordinate with the content and editorial teams to interpret prompts correctly and incorporate feedback and revisions.
- Prepare print-ready files (correct resolution, bleed, margins, CMYK) and digital versions as required.
- Meet chapter-wise and book-wise deadlines while maintaining quality.

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree or diploma in Graphic Design.
- Proven experience in designing books, preferably school textbooks or educational publications.
- Proficiency in Canva,Adobe InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop (or equivalent tools).
- Hands-on experience with the latest AI image generation tools
- Ability to accurately translate a written design/image prompt into a suitable visual.
- Solid sense of layout, typography, colour and visual hierarchy.
- Understanding of print production and pre-press requirements.
- Attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple books and chapters at once.

Preferred

- Experience designing content for CBSE or other school boards
- Familiarity with technology / AI concepts and how to represent them visually for students
- Experience with Hindi (Devanagari) typesetting

Work Arrangement

- The candidate will be required to visit the office twice/thrice a week during the initial phase to understand the design needs of the project. After that, office visits will be required as and when the work demands.
