We are building foundational systems that help UberEats better understand and represent merchants on the platform. The Merchant Intelligence team focuses on improving the quality, consistency, and usability of merchant-related data, and enabling downstream product experiences such as onboarding, discovery, and operations.
As an engineer on this team, you'll work on large-scale backend systems that ingest, reconcile, and serve merchant data, partnering closely with product and platform teams across UberEats.
- Strong backend engineering experience (distributed systems, APIs, data modeling)
- Experience building and operating production systems that handle large or complex datasets
- Comfortable working with imperfect or evolving data
- Ability to reason about system design, ownership, and long-term maintainability
- Bias toward shipping incremental improvements with clear user or business impact
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
- Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience building large-scale distributed systems with experience in architecture design and developing high availability and high-performance systems
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Go, etc.
- Deep understanding and experience with backend services, large-scale systems, multi cloud infrastructure, etc.
- Ability to contribute to technical innovation and problem-solving within a team setting.

- Ability to perform in a fast-paced, multi-tasking setting with tight deadlines.

- Demonstrated ability to mentor junior engineers and drive engineering excellence.
- Experience with machine learning infrastructure and AI technologies is advantageous.
