Job Objective

The Development & Testing Engineer will support engine development, testing, and validation activities for diesel engines. The role involves hands participation in engine build, testing, emission evaluation, prototype development, and continuous improvement of testing processes, ensuring compliance with quality, safety, and engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities : Engine Development & Testing

- Assist in engine development activities including engine build, performance testing, endurance testing, and emission testing for diesel engines.
- Ensure proper execution of engine tests as per defined test procedures to deliver consistent, accurate, and reliable test results.
- Support new product development (NPD) activities including prototype builds, validation testing, and documentation.
- Directly execute testing and experimental activities assigned by the reporting manager.

Calibration, Tools & Software

- Perform test analysis, data acquisition, and evaluation using INCA software as a core requirement.
- Support minor calibration and data interpretation activities related to engine performance and emissions.
- Maintain awareness and usage of latest product technologies, testing methodologies, analysis techniques, and engineering tools.

Process Improvement, Technical Support & Documentation :

- Prepare, update, and maintain all engineering and testing related documentation, reports, and records.
- Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and implementation of corrective and preventive actions for test failures or process deviations.
- Contribute to minor technical work related to consumer innovation projects and strategic business initiatives.




- Technical clearance document preparedness & Support for implementation of engineering changes (ECNs) and contribute to process improvement initiatives in testing and manufacturing.
- Take ownership in improving testing processes to enhance lab utilization efficiency and operational flexibility.
- Monitor production and testing metrics, identifying and resolving technical or operational issues.
- Collaborate closely with production, quality, and manufacturing teams to resolve day to day technical issues.

Safety & Compliance

- Ensure strict adherence to safety rules, procedures, and statutory regulations in the workplace.
- Monitor and guide test technicians to ensure that all testing and lab activities are performed in accordance with defined procedures, safety standards, and legal requirements.

Education & Experience Requirements :

- Bachelor of engineering in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering.
- 2+ years of experience in development & testing activities, preferably in diesel engines.
- Basic understanding of diesel engine systems and manufacturing processes.
- Robust analytical and problem solving skills. Need to handle all testing software’s.
- Must have good communication and teamwork abilities.

- Reports to the India plant Sr. Manager-Development & testing, Diesel Engines.
- Frequent contact with Italy team respective manager.
- Connect with Platform team, Engine Integration, Manufacturing and Quality teams, Product Validation and Quality teams.
- Occasional contact with Applications and Operations (maintenance) teams
- Receives general direction but exercises discretion as to personal work details.

Pay: ₹200,000.00 - ₹600,000.00 per year
