The UAV Pilot Engineer / Test Pilot is responsible for ensuring the airworthiness, performance validation, and operational readiness of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), including both fixed-wing and multirotor platforms. The role combines hands-on flight testing, maintenance and inspection activities, flight log analysis and preparation of detailed test and operational reports to support engineering, certification and customer deployment requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute UAV test flights in accordance with approved test plans, safety standards and Flying SOPs.
- Conduct post-assembly, post-repair and validation flights to ensure airworthiness and performance.
- Operate fixed-wing and multirotor UAVs for endurance, performance, and system validation trials.
- Perform pre-flight and post-flight inspections, risk assessments and system readiness checks.
- Support field trials, customer demonstrations and operational evaluations.
- Provide on-site and remote technical support, troubleshooting, and clearance flight testing.
- Perform UAV assembly, disassembly, preventive maintenance and repairs as per SOPs.
- Inspect UAVs to identify damage, abnormalities or performance deviations.
- Monitor telemetry, record flight data and analyze logs using standard GCS tools.
- Troubleshoot issues related to autopilot tuning, communication links and payload integration.
- Prepare flight test reports, maintain flight records and update technical documentation.
- Coordinate with engineering teams and support DGCA compliance and regulatory activities.
