Role Context

The Trainee Executive - Finance role is designed to onboard high-potential CMA-qualified freshers / early-career professionals into Plum’s Finance function. The role provides hands-on exposure across core finance areas such as accounting, reporting, MIS, controls, and business finance, with a structured learning curve to build strong finance fundamentals in a rapid-growing D2C/consumer brand environment.

Core Mandate

To support the Finance team in day-to-day financial operations, reporting, and analysis while building strong functional capabilities and business understanding over the training period.

Key Responsibilities

- Support monthly closing activities including journal entries, reconciliations, and schedules
- Assist in preparation of MIS reports, dashboards, and variance analysis
- Support budgeting and forecasting exercises
- Assist in maintaining accounting records and documentation
- Support statutory, tax, and audit-related documentation and data collation
- Work with cross-functional teams (Sales, Supply Chain, Marketing) to understand business drivers
- Support cost tracking, expense analysis, and process documentation
- Assist in improving processes, controls, and data accuracy

- Develops strong understanding of Plum’s business model and revenue/cost drivers




- Demonstrates ownership of assigned tasks and learns quickly
- Builds credibility with internal stakeholders through reliability and responsiveness
- Shows continuous improvement mindset and attention to detail
- CMA qualified (or CMA Final completed)
- 0-1 year of experience in finance / accounting / audit (freshers welcome)
- Exposure through articleship, internship, or project work is a plus

- Strong fundamentals in accounting, costing, and finance concepts
- Good working knowledge of Excel (formulas, pivots preferred)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Eagerness to learn in a fast-paced, evolving workplace
