Head of Department (HOD) - Dance & Music

The Head of Department (Dance & Music) will lead, manage, and develop the Dance and Music department to ensure high-quality teaching, artistic excellence, and student development. The role involves academic leadership, curriculum planning, faculty management, and promotion of cultural and performing arts activities aligned with the institution’s vision.

Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic & Curriculum Leadership

- Design, implement, and review dance and music curriculum in line with academic standards and institutional goals
- Ensure effective lesson planning, teaching methodologies, and assessment practices
- Integrate traditional and contemporary forms of dance and music into the curriculum

Department Management

- Lead, mentor, and evaluate dance and music faculty
- Prepare departmental budgets and manage resources efficiently
- Schedule classes, rehearsals, performances, and examinations
- Ensure compliance with academic policies and accreditation requirements

Student Development

- Identify and nurture student talent in dance and music
- Guide students for competitions, performances, examinations, and certifications
- Address student concerns related to academics and performance growth

Events & Cultural Activities

- Plan and coordinate cultural programs, annual functions, workshops, and concerts




- Represent the department in inter-school/inter-college events and collaborations
- Build partnerships with artists, cultural organizations, and institutions

Administration & Reporting

- Maintain departmental records, reports, and documentation
- Conduct regular departmental meetings and performance reviews
- Provide progress reports and strategic inputs to management

Qualifications & ExperienceEducational Qualifications

- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Dance, Music, Performing Arts, or a related field
- Formal training/certification in classical or contemporary dance and/or music (preferred)

Experience

- Minimum 5-8 years of teaching or professional experience in dance and/or music
- At least 2-3 years in a leadership or supervisory role (preferred)

Pay: ₹30,000.00 - ₹35,000.00 per month
