The Senior CMDB Developer is responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing the enterprise Configuration Management Database (CMDB) within ServiceNow. This role ensures high-quality, reliable, and scalable configuration data that powers ITSM, ITOM, SAM, APM, and automation initiatives.
This position requires robust technical expertise, architecture thinking, and hands-on development across CMDB, Discovery, Service Mapping, and integrations, along with ownership of data governance, health, and lifecycle management .
Design and maintain CMDB data models (CSDM aligned), CI class structures, and relationships
Develop and enhance ServiceNow CMDB using:
Business Rules, Script Includes, Flow Designer, UI Policies
Build and maintain Discovery patterns, schedules, probes, and MID server configurations
SCCM, Intune, AWS, Azure, monitoring tools)
Define Identification & Reconciliation Engine (IRE) rules and normalization processes
Data Quality & CMDB Health
Data certification
Reconciliation automation
~ Conduct root cause analysis for data issues and drive corrective actions

Data standards and policies
Align CMDB with ITIL processes:
Incident, Change, Problem, Asset lifecycle




~ Data reconciliation
Now Assist for CMDB: Enable AI-driven or rule-based CMDB operations (e.g., Predictive Intelligence & AIOps: Integrating the CMDB with ITOM Predictive Intelligence to proactively identify configuration anomalies, duplicates, and data gaps.
AI-Driven Service Graph Connectors: Leveraging automated data ingestion pipelines that use ML to map third-party data into the CMDB accurately.
